The job description is as follows:

  • Please be aware that applications must be submitted no later than the evening before the previously mentioned deadline. The closing date’s morning at 12:01 a.m. is when the posting expires.
  • In accordance with all Booster Juice and Algonquin College Food Services operating standards, policies, and procedures, the incumbent is in charge of providing courteous, effective service. They will help the Manager with the operations at the 35th Street Market Café, Marketplace Food Court, and Booster Juice locations.
  • During the weekend, they are in charge of starting and ending the Marketplace Food Court. By adhering to all workplace safety regulations, they are to ensure that food and money are handled properly within the establishment. The incumbent is accountable for modifying as necessary and maintaining the established par stock levels. Together with the Manager, they would ensure proper product rotation, inventory management, and merchandising.
  • The incumbent will delegate tasks, mentor staff, and ensure that enough food is produced in accordance with meal times. In order to meet departmental standards, customer satisfaction goals, and high food standards, the incumbent plans and coordinates while offering help and assistance.
  • Early risers, late shift workers, and weekend shifts are all required for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that each kiosk provides effective customer service, including all necessary food preparation, beverage duties, and day-to-day cash procedures.
  • Obeys and upholds all operating regulations set forth by Booster Juice.
  • Obeys and upholds all rules and regulations set forth by Algonquin College Food Services.
  • It is your responsibility to open and shut the Marketplace Food Court on weekends.
  • Observed all rules and laid out standard stocks while requesting, stock revolution, stock counts and getting stock.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork, such as recording waste and conducting operational audits and inventory counts with the manager.
  • Discusses daily operations with the location’s manager and staff members.
  • Helps train new employees, offers direction, and assigns tasks. When there is a staffing shortage, the incumbent might also be required to work other shifts.
  • Maintains proper cleaning throughout the day of the tables, chairs, and floors.
  • Ensures that all cleaning and maintenance checklists are followed when caring for equipment and work areas.

Required credentials include.

  • Culinary or hospitality/food service certificate programs of one (1) year or longer.
  • One (1) year of relevant experience operating a kiosk in a restaurant with a focus on merchandising, food preparation, sales, cash systems, equipment, and customer service.
  • Being able to handle multiple priorities, adapt to changing environments, stay organized, and perform well under pressure.
  • Possesses the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively; is enthusiastic and motivated.
  • The ability to offer service that is prompt, effective, courteous, and tactful.
  • The ability to bend, push, pull, lift, and stock a variety of goods.

The annual layoff period for this position is up to two (2) months, and the position is for ten (10) months. The job requires a 40-hour work week.

The pay band for this position is D.

Expected Weekly Schedule:

11:00 AM to 7:30 PM from Monday through Wednesday.

Sunday and on Saturday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Regular on-site work is required for this position.
