Job Requirements:

  • Must have formal training as a plumber or steamfitter.
  • Must hold a valid Certificate of Qualification and gas installations (Class “Bticket) from the Manitoba Department of Labour.
  • Preference is given to candidates with both plumbing and steam fitting licenses.
  • Must have a current Cross Connection/Backflow Device testing license from the City of Winnipeg.
  • Must hold a valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License.
  • At least five years of related experience after receiving a journeyman’s certificate.
  • Expertise in maintaining both high- and low-pressure steam systems, as well as testing backflow devices.
  • Capacity to oversee assistants and calculate installation and maintenance expenses.
  • Capacity to collaborate with contractors, service providers, and other tradespeople.
  • the capacity to evaluate ongoing building projects and successfully convey concerns.
  • Analytical problem-solving abilities are required.
  • Must work safely, demonstrate honesty, integrity, sound work ethics, and a positive attitude.
  • Capable of working in confined areas, on scaffolds, on swing stages, and with aerial truck devices.
  • Must wear all forms of personal protective equipment.
  • Requires regular attendance and punctuality.
