The Georgian Bay District Secondary School is hiring a qualified person for the position of food service worker, and the Simcoe County District School Board is looking for candidates. The successful applicant will work closely with the teaching chef and culinary students to serve breakfast and lunch, in addition to additional a la carte and catering sales, to school staff and students. They will report to the school principal. The ideal applicant will be extremely driven, affable, and able to function both independently and as a team player.

Relevant experience and skills include.
Experience with nutritional standards and food safety regulations in the past.
A current certificate for food handlers.
Demonstrates understanding of the standards for service, quality, hardware, and operations.
The capacity to work independently, in a team, and while juggling multiple tasks.
Capability of accepting and processing payments for catering and cafeteria services.
Solid relational, correspondence (verbal and composed), and client assistance abilities.
Able to build a good rapport with faculty and students.
An advantage would be having prior experience with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
The candidate must be dependable and trustworthy.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Each week, roughly twenty (20) hours. To accommodate operational requirements, the schedule is subject to change. All full-time permanent workers must take part in the OMERS Pension Plan, even if they are already receiving a pension from the organization.
