To follow established Food Services guidelines in the proper preparation, cooking, storage, and serving of all menu items offered in the Marketplace Food Court’s Short Order section while upholding order and cleanliness throughout the shift.
Misplace preparation of breakfast, lunch, and dinner while adhering to Algonquin College Food Service policies and procedures for food safety. Provides customers ordering at the counter with exceptional, efficient, and friendly service. Because this is a closing position, the worker must make sure all

Responsibilities and Duties:
The preparatory phase before service.
All of the food needed for daily service is prepared.
Ensure that every piece of equipment required for the day is sanitized and operational.
Moving necessary products from the storage area to the area designated for short orders.
Prepares ingredients for a la carte service;
Ensures that counters, freezers, and refrigerators are adequately stocked.

Service and Function:
Prepares menu items in accordance with customer orders and guarantees that they are accurately identified.
Maintains the right temperatures for both hot and cold food throughout the shift.
Ensures that during the shift, all food items are stored properly.
Throughout the shift, keep the equipment clean.

Upkeep of Equipment.
Provides routine cleaning and filtering for deep fryers.
Cleans and sanitizes work areas, walls, floors, grills, and hoods every day. When scheduled, takes part in quarterly cleaning.
Promptly notifies the sous chef or executive chef of any equipment malfunctions.
Maintains glass and countertops spotless and debris-free at all times.
Carries out daily cleaning and replacement of food dispensers and containers.
Miscellaneous:
Inform the cook if any equipment is broken.
Verifies the banquet board to stay informed about events involving local products.
Give the executive chef-client feedback so that the service can be improved over time.
Make sure the work areas are tidy.
Ensure that the workplace is safe. Identify

Required Credentials:
Diploma from a secondary school (grade 12);.
A minimum of one year’s experience working in a high-volume food service industry.
Exemplary organizational skills and multitasking prowess.
The capacity to work both independently and/or collaboratively.
Being able to perform well under pressure.
Ability to provide prompt, effective, courteous, and tactful service.
Flexibility to bend, push, and pull.
The anticipated timetable is. 8:00 PM to 11:30 AM, Monday through Friday.
An annual layoff of up to three (3) months is permitted for this nine (9) month position. A 40-hour work week is required for the position.
The pay band for this position is B.
