Concerning the post:

Fitters handle the fabrication, fitting, welding, and planning of different specialized metal projects. To maintain quality and satisfy business standards, they make use of technical know-how, blueprints, schematics, particular welding procedures, and other paperwork.

Work Hours:

  • Day Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 40 hours every week
  • Afternoon Shift: Monday through Thursday, 4:30 PM to 2:30 AM 40 hours every week

What are you going to do?

  • Follow the terms of the Act and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Respect the rules and regulations set forth by Cambridge Pro Fab, Inc.
  • Make sure you utilize or wear the necessary protection gear, apparel, or equipment.
  • Maintain a tidy, orderly workspace, and operate machinery in a safe and competent manner.
  • Encourage the use of safe work practices.
  • Use an oxygen-acetylene torch and plasma cutter safely, accurately, and with a little cleaning.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the supplied work fits within Cambridge Pro Fab’s tolerances or the customer’s (usually within 1/16″ over 3′).
  • Fitting components and all designated panel kinds (which can involve lifting steel by hand, using an overhead crane, or using a forklift) and making sure that all assemblies and sub-assemblies are accurate for special purposes
  • A thorough understanding of the fit process, manufacturing prints, and welding (layout, fit, QA checks, and Q/A checks).
  • Possesses the necessary tickets for FCAW, GTAW, and GMAW positions in carbon and stainless applications.
  • Finish any paperwork that is needed. accountable for the quantity, caliber, and effectiveness of the welding done and execute any necessary repairs.
  • Mix all of the elements from the welding operation, including the spatter, and replace the parent metal as needed.
  • Recognize and decipher welding symbols, applying the appropriate weld to each component in accordance with the blueprint.
  • Utilizing a grinder, scraper, wire brush, and/or chipping hammer, clean your own welds.
  • Fits any position allocated by the plant manager or supervisor, regardless of the type of work (flat, round, square to round, or special fabrication). This could involve, but not be limited to, working in tight spaces, working at heights, and spending a lot of time in certain places. It is necessary to have the flexibility and agility to fit into any role.
  • Crane utilization and rigging able to operate several crane hoists.
  • Use other task-related items and equipment, such as clamps, wrenches, overhead cranes, ladders, chipping hammers, and portable power tools, carefully.
  • Inspect preps and welds to ensure they adhere to requirements and standards (QA checks).
  • Must fulfill CWB and business quality requirements.
  • Capacity to pick up and implement new skills, earning certifications as needed for welding.
  • Installation of insulation may be necessary on occasion.
  • Maintain a fast-paced work atmosphere and have the flexibility to switch roles as needed to meet the needs of clients or the business.
  • Assist with the training and skill development of recent personnel.
  • Continue to have a sufficient attendance rate.
  • Keep the lines of communication between you and the team leader open and consistent.
  • Seek methods to enhance the fitting procedure, quality, and safety.
  • For the benefit of the business, carry out additional responsibilities beyond the regular parameters of your everyday work.
