Ahead of time:

As a part-time field welder tester, you will support the local FT Certification Services Representative by offering CWB clients who are applicants or certified to various CSA welding standards welder qualification testing, welder test witnessing, auditing, and procedure testing services. Accredited testing centers and unions may also receive these services. Please be aware that there are no set hours for this part-time position; availability for on-call duty is needed from Monday through Friday throughout the entire workday. This role will operate out of CWB’s client locations in the Trail, Castlegar, or Nelson, British Columbia, as well as the surrounding areas. It will report to the Regional Supervisor, Western Operations.

What you can contribute:

familiarity with weld standards and CSA W47.1, W47.2, and W186 welder qualifying tests.
Five years or more of minimum relevant work experience in one of the following fields:
Welding experience with a background as an educator or trainer, a CWB-approved welding supervisor, or a welding inspection
Technical expertise and industry experience regarding welding and joining
Travel requires a valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle.
MINIMUM INTERMEDIATE familiarity with Microsoft Office and Windows (Outlook).

The following credentials might be beneficial:

Welding Supervisor Approved by CWB CSA W178.2 Level 1 or 2 Inspector.
Journeyman Welder (over five years of experience)
Technologists and Technicians in Welding Engineering
