JFUNU Scholarships for Developing Country Students in the MSc in Sustainability Program Outstanding applicants from developing nations who can prove they need financial aid and who are accepted into the Master of Science in Sustainability program at the United Nations University’s Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) are eligible for the Japan Foundation for UNU (JFUNU) Scholarship. Master of Science in Sustainability Program Requirements

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in a sustainability-related field from an accredited university.
  • A minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale or 70% on a 100% scale.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Minimum scores for English language qualifications are 600 on the TOEFL Paper-Based Testing (PBT), 100 on the TOEFL Internet-Based Testing (IBT), and 7.0 on the IELTS Academic format.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be citizens of underdeveloped nations needing financial support.
  • Work visa holders in Japan are not eligible.
  • Cannot be enrolled in other postgraduate degree programs.
  • Multiple scholarships cannot be held simultaneously.
