Leiden University Excellence Scholarships (LexS). Outstanding non-EEA/non-EFTA students signed up for a full-time master’s degree program at Leiden University are qualified to apply for the Leiden University Excellence Scholarship Program (LExS).

Leiden University Masters Programs
- Full-time Masters programmes at Leiden University.
- Leiden Law School offers both MSc and LLM programs.
- Study programs start in February at the Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Sciences, and Leiden Law School.
Scholarship Award Types
- Depends on the Faculty department budget.
Leiden University Excellence Scholarship Programme
- Offers €10,000 tuition fee.
- €15,000 tuition fee minus the statutory fee.
- Non-EEA LExS recipients must submit proof of sufficient funds for student visa/residence permit application.
Master’s Programme Application Requirements
- Students must have excellent study results relevant to the Master’s program.
- Must be among the top 10% of graduates in their previous study program.
- Applicants must have a non-EEA/non-EFTA passport.
- Eligibility for support under Dutch study grants and loans may vary.
- LLM Advanced Studies programs or MSc in International Relations and Diplomacy have no nationality restrictions.
- Restrictions apply to all EU countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland.

- Apply online for admissions.
- Eligibility for the LExS scholarship is visible in the scholarships section.
- Indicate interest and upload a motivation letter.
- Deadline for September programs: 1 February, February programs: 1 October.
