Ontario Trillium Scholarship Requirements for 2023–2024

For consideration for an Ontario Trillium Scholarship, candidates must have received at least 80% in each of the two most recent academic years of full-time university study, or an equal level of study. These other categories represent the eligibility requirements;

  • Candidates must be international
  • Must intend to enroll in Western’s doctorate program full-time.
  • Must not be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an Ontario institution at the time of application.

Qualifications for Holding the Award:

  • For the length of the grant, you must continue to be enrolled at Western as a full-time doctoral student in a program that qualifies.
  • Must not have a Tri-Council award, an OGS, or a QEIIGSST at the same time.
  • Annual renewal of the award is subject to ongoing excellence in the program and satisfactory progress.
  • If a person becomes a permanent resident of Canada while the award is in effect, they may keep their OTS.
  • Scholarship Amount and Duration $40,000 each year, renewable for up to four years, starting at the same time as the recipient’s Ph.D. programme.
