Simmons Looks To Improve COVID-19 Testing Capacity In Stamford

In recent days, long lines have snarled testing and pick-up locations.  “We’ve been doing all we can as a city to try to get additional testing,” says Mayor Caroline Simmons.  Stamford handed out 20,000 at-home tests on Sunday.  High-risk populations and individuals who were exhibiting symptoms were given priority. 

Cove Island Park, Rippowam Middle School, DOCS Urgent Care, CVS Pharmacy, and Stamford Hospital Wheeler Building are among the drive-through testing locations. AFC Urgent Care, 3000 Summer St.Quest Diagnostics, 1250 Summer St., Suite 203; Community Health Centers, 22 Fifth St. AFC Urgent Care, 3000 Summer St. 30 Buxton Road, Murphy Medical Associates, The state Department of Public Health is seeking a more permanent home for the property.  According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, New England has 82 percent of the strain.
