The Republic of Turkey's 98th Anniversary of Proclamation

Today, we joyfully celebrate the 98th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey’s Announcement. Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk led Turkey’s War of Independence to victory on October 29, 1923. On this day, we remember Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, our Republic’s Organizer, as well as all of our warriors and saints who have made a final penance for our country, particularly the veterans and saints who lost their lives in the horrible uprising against the Republic on July 15, 2016.

Turkey will continue to effectively seek after its struggles with the Fethullah Fear Monger Association, the group responsible for Turkey’s 2016 crushed overthrow, which killed 251 people and injured hundreds more. Turkey has achieved incredible progress in establishing itself among the world’s great and modern countries over the last 98 years. Turkey is a pillar of stability and growth in its region, as well as a vital local entertainer. With the Official Arrangement of Government in place in 2018, and under the leadership of H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoan, Turkey’s President, the country is poised to continue prospering and fulfilling its positive pledges as a reliable and responsible global partner.

Turkey aspires to a “ambitious and helpful international strategy” on a global scale, and is making significant efforts to strengthen and succeed in its region and beyond. As a result of dedicated efforts, including those in the public protection industry, Turkey has achieved a tolerable level of contemporary construction, including over 1,000 organizations, small and medium-scale businesses, research facilities, and universities, as a result of over 1,000 organizations, small and medium-scale businesses, research facilities, and universities as a result of dedicated efforts, including those in the public construction industry. Turkey has been a major entertainer in this field, thanks to its focus on human reason, as well as its authoritative development and humanitarian guidance.

While everyone else closed their doors and hearts to those in desperate need, Turkey has over 4,000,000 people who have fled their countries in quest of safety. The year 2021 marks the 63rd anniversary of Turkey and Thailand’s lasting friendship. Since the establishment of strategic relations in 1958, both of our countries have valued friendly relations. The late-nineteenth-century journey of Ruler Damrong to Istanbul on his way to Mainland Europe, however unplanned, proved to be a fruitful encounter between the two countries.

Turkey and Thailand are two of the most important drivers in their respective regions, with a goal-oriented dynamism based on enormous potential. Despite the Coronavirus epidemic, the two countries’ exchange volume was at US$1.4 billion by 2020. An international coalition is now being discussed. Turkey, like Thailand, is a hub for the creative industries. Innovation, networking, digitization, and the green economy are all areas of mutual interest. We are confident that increased interchange and collaboration between our countries will strengthen and sustain our engagement.

As a result, we engage Thai financial experts in order to reap the benefits of cooperating with Turkey. Aside from their active bilateral relations, Turkey and Thailand also work at multilateral levels, particularly at the United Nations. Turkey places a high value on its ties with ASEAN, with which it has now become a Sectoral Exchange Accomplice, thanks to Thailand’s assistance. Our “Asia Once Again Drive,” announced in 2019, would provide a further impetus for us to expand our respective participation beyond our current ASEAN collaboration.

Turkey and Thailand, as two halfway-found vibrant nations, will continue to cooperate to improve and broaden their collaboration, both bilaterally and in multilateral fora, to the mutual benefit of their peoples and with the ultimate objective of contributing to the flourishing of their regions. The Turkish Republic will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2023, as well as the 65th anniversary of Turkish-Thai relations. I’m confident that close cooperation and friendship between Turkey and Thailand will continue to strengthen in the future. With these thoughts in mind, as we approach the 98th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey’s founding, I salute the 29th of October as Republic Day.
