ITALY’S VATICAN CITY (AP) —The Catholic feast day of Epiphany is observed by Pope Francis. He urges people to reject consumerist “tyranny” and “faith crises. The visit of three Magi, or wise men, to Baby Jesus is commemorated on Epiphany. The Magi were looking for the kid who was described as the Jewish king, according to the Bible. Pope Francis urges a “brave and prophetic religion” that confronts “power’s evil logic.” Thousands of Orthodox Christian worshippers in Bulgaria defied the pandemic’s limits on mass gatherings and continued their centuries-old Epiphany customs by leaping into freezing rivers and lakes. Pedro Sánchez, the Prime Minister of Chile, was also expected to attend.
