This agreement swiftly collapsed under her successor, Olaf Scholz, even within Germany, according to pundit Andreas Ernst. “The decisive gap in the union of states is not between France and Germany,” he stated. He suggested that the true players are US Vice President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin. “That is why they are wary of a European security policy that is independent.”
