Growing evidence suggests that the anesthetic ketamine, popularly known as the club drug “Special K,” can help people who are battling with their mental health. Ketamine, popularly known as “Special K,” is a medication that is used to treat serious depression and bipolar disorder. The medicine successfully decreases depression and suicidal thoughts quickly after being used, according to new research out of England. After a single dose, the anesthetic can relieve symptoms in as little as one to four hours.
