New York Jets Expect QB Mike White To Be Back By Next Game.

Mike White’s heroic run as the New York Jets quarterback was cut short Thursday night by a right forearm injury in the first quarter, but the organization expects him to be back next week, forcing coach Robert Saleh to make a significant quarterback choice. In a 45-30 loss to the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium, the Jets also suffered a devastating injury on defense.

The squad is concerned that safety Marcus Maye, one of their best players, has torn his Achilles tendon, which could terminate his season. Josh Johnson, a third-string quarterback, was effective in relief, throwing three touchdown passes. “We feel good about him getting healed over the weekend and being ready for next week,” Saleh said of White, who started in place of Zach Wilson, who was hurt (sprained knee).

Saleh has remained tight-lipped about his quarterback plans, leading to a lot of speculation. Wilson, the franchise’s future, was drafted second overall, although he was struggling at the time of his injury. In his debut start, White set a record for most completions (37) by a quarterback. “By no means is this the end of the trip,” he remarked. ” “White, who was already a fan favorite, called it “frustrating” because the offensive had gotten off to a strong start.

Even after he left, the offense continued to click, racking up 486 total yards. Johnson, who has played for 13 organizations and saw action for the first time since 2018, scored career highs with three passing touchdowns and 317 yards, although he isn’t considered a starter. In addition to Wilson, the Jets have veteran Joe Flacco, who was acquired in a trade last week due to Wilson’s injury. For the second game in a row, he did not play.
