Near Odessa, The USGS Records Two Earthquakes.

West Texas was slammed by earthquakes with magnitudes of 3.44 and 3.6 on Tuesday afternoon, according to the US Geological Survey. The epicenter of the main tremor struck nine kilometers or more or less five miles north/northeast of Odessa, near Gardendale, just before five p.m., according to the USGS. A second quake struck less than 10 minutes later, scarcely more powerful than the first, with a magnitude of 3.6. Several tourists have contacted NewsWest nine to say they felt the quake as well as the aftershock.
