BBC Radio DJ Adele Roberts Confirms She Has Cancer.

Adele Roberts, a BBC Radio 1 presenter, has announced that she will undergo colon cancer surgery. Roberts, 42, who hosts Weekend Breakfast, revealed she had been diagnosed at the start of the month and would have surgery on Monday to remove a tumor.

“So far, the outlook is excellent, and I feel quite lucky to be treated as I am. It’s only the beginning of my experience, but I’m going to give it everything I’ve got “she explained. This weekend, the former Big Brother star defied all of her radio advice. The radio DJ from Southport, Merseyside, revealed her findings in an Instagram post, stating that she had sought medical advice after suffering from her stomach “for a while.”

“It all happened so quickly, and I’m so sorry to post something like this on here,” she added, “but I hope it lets everyone who is undoubtedly wondering or hurting in silence.” As I’ve learned over the last few weeks, most malignancies have no such thing as ‘normal.’ Regrettably, it has the potential to affect anyone, at any age, at any moment. It makes no distinctions. Early detection has the potential to save your life. “

She continued, “I’m having surgery [on Monday] to remove the tumor, then I’ll see if I need any additional treatment or if cancer has spread. She ended her article with the following announcement: “The most difficult part wasn’t discovering I had cancer; it was informing my family. My heart was broken.

“If you see any of them, please keep an eye out for them until I can see them again. By Katie in particular (her girlfriend). I’m concerned about her being on her own while I’m abroad.” Kate Holderness, Roberts’ girlfriend, also penned an impassioned post on Sunday evening, describing Roberts as “my hero, my universe, and my love.”

She stated that she would not be able to accompany Roberts to the hospital or be present when she awoke following her operation. “It’s the worst feeling in the world,” she says. “I won’t want her to get into that hospital as soon as possible, but I also urgently don’t want to be without her.”

She stated it was difficult for her to comprehend how “unfair” the analysis had become because Roberts had done “all of the things they say help you keep your cancer” but failed to do the things that were presumptively putting you at greater risk.” “But, now that I think about it, it could appear to anyone. Cancer isn’t quite truthful, is it?”

Radio 1 said in a statement. Everyone at Radio 1 wishes Adele a speedy recovery, as do hundreds of thousands of listeners, and we remain hopeful that she will return to the airwaves soon.” Along with a number of her BBC colleagues, singer Jessie Ware and actor Suranne Jones were among those who sent Roberts their assistance via Instagram.

Scott Mills, a radio host, wrote: “Adele, we all adore you. You published something of great quality. You’re fantastic, and you’ve been given this.” Sara Cox of Radio 2 described Roberts as “superb and gutsy” for sharing her story to help others, adding that she was sending her “1000 gentle hugs.”

Roberts got to prominence after appearing in Channel 4’s Big Brother 0.33 collection in 2002. Alison Hammond, host of ITV’s This Morning, and Jade Goody, who died in 2009 after being diagnosed with cervical cancer, were among the contestants that year. She began her career at the BBC in 2012 as a member of the Radio 1Xtra crew before moving to Radio 1 to lead the Early Breakfast Show in 2015. This year, she took over the Weekend Breakfast program ahead of schedule.

In 2019, she also appeared on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity, where she became the first male or woman to be ejected from the jungle.
